Surgical Management of Failed Abductors following total hip arthroplasty

I have devised a surgical technique and carried out a prospective study using Human Allomatrix Graft Jacket (Wright Medical Inc.) in repairing hip abductor insufficiency. This new surgical technique has been presented at American Hip and Knee Surgeons Annual Conference in Dallas, 2012; European Orthopaedic and Research Society meeting in Amsterdam and European Hip Society Congress, Milan 2012 along with publications in ‘’International Orthopaedics and in JBJS Br supplement and ‘’Hip international’’.

Distal Segmental femoral replacement for periprosthetic fractures in the elderly.

This was a prospective study of periprosthetic fractures around knee in the elderly using distal Femoral Arthroplasty for early mobilisation and weight bearing. This won best paper award in 11th annual Indian arthroplasty association meeting in October 2011 and this work was presented at European Federation of National Assemblies Of Orthopaedics and Traumatology Congress in Berlin, in May 2012, annual meeting of British Association for Surgery of the Knee in April 2012 in Derby, 6th Orthopaedic and in Trauma Update in Val De Saire, France in January 2012. This was a comparative study of ‘’Distal Femoral Arthroplasty’’ versus internal fixation for distal femoral periprosthetic fractures. Results showed no major differences in clinical outcomes and costs were similar in either group. This paper won 10 top papers in SICOT Orthopaedic World Congress; 2013. This study is also being presented at American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons annual conference in San Diego, USA in March 2017.

Management of massive osteolysis in Revision Knee Arthroplasty.

This was prospective study using Trabecular metal femoral and tibial cones in management of massive osteolysis in revision knee arthroplasty. Follow up is now of over seven years and this is largest series in the world. This work has been published in JBJS Br, and has been presented in various meetings like International Society for Technology in Arthroplasty, Sydney, European Orthopaedic Research Society Annual Conference in Amsterdam, Orthopaedic update combined meeting in Val de Saire and at ‘’Oxford Extreme TMT’’ meeting, chaired by Dr.Wayne Paprosky

Role of Rotating Hinge Knee prosthesis in Revision Knee Arthroplasty.

This is an ongoing prospective study of 108 knee revision arthroplasties using Rotating hinge knee with their mid-term results. Papers on this have been presented at International Society for Technology in Arthroplasty, Sydney, October 2012, European Orthopaedic Research Society Annual Conference, Amsterdam; 2012, BASK annual meeting 2012 in Derby and at ‘’EFORT’’ 2013 annual meeting in Istanbul
